Chapenite is a jasper/agate (prehistoric sea, ocean; or lake bed) that was formed and millions of years later found itself in a fault line where earth quake activity crushed it. Eons pass and our jasper/agate finds itself in an area rich with hot silica laden waters which infiltrate the cracks and turn to agate--healing the cracks and making it whole again. I got my first exposure to Chapenite from the late doctors family. It is my understanding that there are  pieces on display in the museum in San Bernardino, Ca.
